A U.S. Navy jet crashed into an apartment complex in Virginia Beach , Virginia, on Friday afternoon . CNN reports that the plane -- an F/A-18D assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106 -- slammed into the Mayfair Mews Apartment complex , setting several apartments on fire. The US Navy reported that both pilots ejected from the plane, but are being transported to the local hospital for observation. GILBERT, Ariz. - Some residents who had been evacuated near a major fire in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert returned home early Sunday . About 60 people were evacuated from the area, according to Diana Rodriguez, a public information officer for the American Red Cross . Evacuees from an apartment complex near the fire were still displaced, she added. The discovery of the infant, Fargo police said, was followed by the arrest of Brooke Lynn Crews , 38, and William Henry Hoehn , 32, who both lived in the same apartment building as the missing woman , Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind. Crews and Hoehn were arrested and charged with felony conspiracy to commit kidnapping, police said in a Facebook post. They were being held at the Cass County Jail . LaFontaine-Greywind went missing from the apartment building Saturday afternoon . Her whereabouts remained unknown late Thursday , police said. At least six investigators were seen donning hazmat suits Thursday night outside the apartment building at 2825 9th St. N., where LaFontaine-Greywind lives with her parents in a basement unit. CRESTWOOD, IL -- Cook County Animals and Rabies Control has issued a rabid bat alert for the Crestwood area after several bats were found inside a residence. The bats were submitted for a rabies examination to the Illinois State Public Health Laboratory . One of the bats was determined to be rabid. Animal control officials were called to a residential complex in the 14000 block of Dori Lane in Crestwood sometime after 10 p.m. Aug. 15. The homeowner reported finding several bats inside the home. The state public health lab returned the positive result for the sick bat the next day. Sixteen bats have tested positive for rabies so far in 2017. Those who believe they or a family member was exposed to or bitten by a bat should contact a doctor immediately. Residents should not handle any bats, skunks, raccoons or other wild animals. Ruth Bennett woke up at 1 a.m. and looked through the doorway of her independent living apartment in Walker, about 20 miles west of Baton Rouge. It was Aug. 13, 2016, and rain had been pouring down for two days. Bennett was worried about her car flooding. She saw water creeping up to the parking lot, but her  car looked safe . She crawled back into bed.  Two hours later, one of the employees of Southern Pines Retirement Community  was pounding on Bennett's door. Not only had Bennett's car flooded, the facility was surrounded by water. The employee told Bennet to grab what she needed, including her medicine.
