Fairway Park Apartments - 30 Photos - Apartments - 2100 Maryland Ave NE, Carver/Langston, Washington, DC - Phone Number

6 2100 Maryland Ave NE Washington, DC 20002 (202) 640-1364 As a property management professional myself, I must say that Fairway Park has the absolute BEST customer service I have ever experienced in all my years of searching for apartments! Lacy, Regina, and all of the office staff are always very helpful and friendly, and they really take the time to go above and beyond to make sure they meet your needs, from the time you lease your apartment, and while you are a resident at the community. The maintenance staff is also very efficient and quick to take care of any service requests that you may have. They are always very responsive and professional, provide you updates to your requests, and work hard to ensure that all of your issues are resolved in a very timely manner. I recommend Fairway Park Apartments to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and affordable community to live, and who are anticipating a smooth and easy application process . The apartments are finished with hard...

Leaders mull ways to improve parking in downtown Auburn | Auburn

Downtown Merchants Association coordinator Jessica Kohn said one resounding issue is brought up at each monthly meeting of downtown Auburn business owners . “A huge hurdle is employees not having designated parking spaces for them,” Kohn said. “Unless business owners lease parking spaces , that’s really the only way they’re guaranteed a space. Certain business owners tell their employees to catch a ride or walk.” On average, 125 employees work at businesses downtown each day, she added. Not having them park their personal vehicles downtown frees parking spaces for customers. Yet the rallying cry from people who work, shop and eat in Auburn is that there is simply not enough parking space available to everyone. “In all the parking studies we’ve done, we’ve always been told that what Auburn needs is not one huge deck with 1,000 cars or 2,000 cars. It’s several little spaces,” interim city manager Jim Buston said. “Because our town is not that big; our town is smal...

Olympia to revise codes to allow for a variety of housing

Whitney and Luke Bowerman dream of building cottages on one of the few larger lots remaining in Olympia’s Eastside neighborhood. They want to leave the existing trees on the Fairview Street Southeast lot , and reflect the character of the neighborhood in their design. The cottages would join a new, three-bedroom house also designed to fit the area. But the city of Olympia has made it expensive to build cottages, the Bowermans said. They estimate that city fees alone will run $30,000 to $40,000 per cottage. And the cottages will be just between 500 and 800 square feet. “The impact fees for a 500-square-foot cottage are almost the same as for a single-family home,” Whitney Bowerman said. “But you can’t rent them for as much,” Luke Bowerman said. If changes aren’t made to reduce the costs, the Bowermans said, they might have to abandon the cottage idea and build a more traditional subdivision. Out of respect for the neighborhood, they don’t want to do that. Meanwhile, Olympia is poised...

Trip Report for Naked Capitalism Meetups in Burlington, VT and Montréal, PQ

Image
By Lambert Strether of Corrente. We had our Naked Capitalism meetup in Burlington Thursday, August 17, and our meetup in Montréal on Friday, August 18. Seven NC readers attended the Burlington Meetup, some coming a long distance; fourteen — I think, we had to add a table — came to Montréal. I thought both numbers were remarkable; strangers coming together for no other reason than that they read the same blog speaks to a great hunger for connection, IMNSHO, and speaks well of the blog. In Burlington, we met at Zero Gravity Brewpub at Flatbread ( excellent craft beer , excellent pizza). In Montréal, we met at Le Café Cherrier (cuisine bourgeois, again excellent, and bringing back very happy memories for me. And a big hat tip here to the Montréal organizer for selecting the venue; I’m anonymizing them because I’m not sure they wish to be named). Both meetups were very convivial — conviviality is important — and both establishments let us sit and chat for a long time. I hadn’t been to e...

Should You Get A Puppy in an Apartment?

Image
Should you get a puppy in an apartment? Yes, if you’re up for the challenge and can be a little flexible! I live on a 2nd floor apartment , and I have a 9-week-old weimaraner puppy. This might mean I’m a little crazy. But it’s really not that bad. It’s actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. We’ve had adult foster dogs that were WAY more challenging than this. So, it mostly depends on the individual puppy and your own flexibility. Some people in apartments definitely should not get a puppy, but you could say the same about people who live in homes with fenced yards. It just depends. Should you get a puppy in an apartment? It depends on the individual puppy owner and the individual puppy (breed, predicted energy & size). Here are some of the common concerns about raising a puppy in an apartment: 1. Potty training is more challenging. 2. Kennel training (CRYING!) can disturb neighbors. 3. Risk of disease from other dogs in the complex when using “community” potty are...

Christina El Moussa Has a Few Things She'd Like to Say

Image
Aug 22, 2017 Most of the stars on HGTV — a network so popular it beat CNN's ratings during an election year — lean toward a look that, well, blends in. Crown jewel Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper is often seen in denim, plaid and baseball caps to match the Waco, Texas, scenery. Love It or List It 's Hilary Farr is almost always wearing jeans and a plain, bright sweater or blouse. Karen Laine and daughter Mina Starsiak of HGTV's new show Good Bones also favor simple plaids and neutrals. Christina El Moussa from Flip or Flop , HGTV's second most popular show after Fixer Upper , will sometimes wear a conservative blouse or drapey sweater on-camera, but she'll also pair them with ripped jeans or visit demolition day in form- fitting yoga pants . She's hardly ever without a blowout and brown smokey eyeshadow . She stands out and gets noticed — but with that must come a thick skin. Civilian drills grow lax among South Koreans used to threats

Once or twice a year, streets of South Korea’s busy capital freeze for several minutes at the sound of a siren, with cars stopping on roads and pedestrians moving into buildings and subway stations taking part in a nationwide drill aimed at preparing against a North Korean attack . But critics say the remarkable scenes mask aging policies that are failing to train South Koreans at a time when the threat posed by North Korea’s nuclear and missile program is growing. less In this Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, photo, people gather at a shelter during a civil defense drill at City Hall in Seoul, South Korea.
