You know your neighborhood is up for a remake when a developer wants to rename it. One is targeting a Bronx neighborhood for revitalizing, but locals worry it would displace those who live there now. Susan Mall of San Francisco recalls how her late mother, Alyne Salstone, came to choose her oceanview Sloan’s Curve condominium. Her parents had previously resided at another South End apartment down the coastal road at The Ambassador. “When my parents first came to Palm Beach from Chicago, they lived at The Ambassador, and then the Sloan’s Curve (development) was built, and, my mother loved that location,” Mall recalls. >> PHOTOS: Oceanview Sloan’s Curve condominium at 2100 S. Ocean Blvd. After her husband, Milton, died in 1980, Salstone decided to make Florida her primary home. She bought an apartment in Sloan’s Curve. Developers of a Quincy apartment complex affected by fire earlier this year celebrated its opening of a bigger public boardwalk at Marina Bay recently . Hines, the real estate developer behind the complex, has expanded the boardwalk and brought two five-story buildings containing 352 luxury units, as well as a parking garage and 20,000 square feet of retail space, to Marina Bay, the multi-use waterfront development adjacent to Squantum Point Park . Advertisement The boardwalk has nearly doubled in size with the development of Meriel Marina Bay , the latest in a series of large apartment complexes to open in Quincy. The complex caught fire on June 4, but a project official said that the small portion of the property affected by the fire was repaired immediately and that the damage was minimal. Design teams were named Tuesday for Water Street Tampa , the much-touted plan for the city’s Channelside area from  Jeff Vinik ‘s Strategic Property Partners and Bill Gates ‘ asset management firm Cascade Investment. The group also released a new conceptual illustrated video that shows how the district will come together over the next few years along the Tampa waterfront . Water Street Tampa officials say that SPP and Cascade Investments have assembled an “all-star” collection of talent that will work on the project, including companies like CookFox Architects , Morris Adjmi Architects , Olson Kundig, Kohn Pederson Fox Associates , and Pickard Chilton that have never designed a building in Tampa, but all have had globally recognized international exposure and have done work in the region. More prosaically, co-living can simply mean roommates and common rooms, like a dorm. For some developers, it’s a form of adaptive reuse: many co-living sites, like WeLive at 110 Wall Street , are leased, in this case from the landlord of what once was an office building, drained of its tenants by Hurricane Sandy.
