MONTEBELLO, Calif. (KABC) -- A man suspected of killing his estranged wife , who was eight weeks pregnant , was shot and killed in an officer- involved shooting in Montebello Friday. Around 2:40 p.m., Montebello police officers were involved in a shooting with a male suspect in the 2900 block of West Via Corona. He was shot and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff 's Department. Authorities identified the suspect as 26-year-old Christopher Diaz.Diaz was suspected of killing 28-year-old Roxann Acosta after confronting her in an apartment in the 12000 block of West Victoria Avenue on Aug. 6. Authorities had been looking for Diaz. Witnesses of the shooting said police in two SUVs were following a vehicle that Diaz was in. Police said the vehicle was being driven by a woman and that Diaz was the passenger. Richard, a witness to the scene, said Diaz ran from the vehicle after he discovered he was being followed. SANTA MARIA, CA — A man who abducted his 9-year-old son after allegedly shooting and killing the child's mother, prompting an Amber Alert, was killed Tuesday in an officer-involved shooting in Tarzana and the child was found safe. The California Highway Patrol reported just after 8 p.m. that the Amber Alert was cancelled. It had been in effect in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties The announcement that Daniel Morozov was found safe came within 90 minutes of an officer-involved shooting about 6:45 p.m. in the 5500 block of Lindley Avenue near Killion Street that left the boy's father, 48-year-old Konstantin Morozov, dead, according to the Los Angeles Police Department . The pair were gunned down outside Corbally’s home on Balbutcher Road in Ballymun. Corbally was the sister of convicted criminal Derek Devoy and gardaí believe that he was the intended target of the shooting but managed to escape. Callaway, Fla. - A Panama City man is in custody for a suspected shooting in Callaway early Wednesday morning . Jivaro Smith, 29, was arrested at Foxwood Apartments. Bay County Sheriff 's investigators say they caught Smith in the parking lot after he tried to run away. Authorities believe Smith was involved in the shooting that injured one man at an apartment near the intersection of Cherry Street and North Kimbrel Avenue . The victim was reportedly shot in the leg and is expected to be okay. BCSO Lt. Jeremy Mathis believes an argument led to the shooting. A felony warrant suspect sought by law enforcement officials was shot and killed by deputies at a Vista apartment complex Friday evening , the San Diego County Sheriff ’s Department confirmed. At around 6:20 p.m., deputies from the Vista Sheriff ’s Station Gang Enforcement Team were trying to locate a felony warrant suspect wanted on drug-related charges when they spotted the suspect inside a garage at the Shadow Ridge Park Apartments in the 2000-block of South Melrose Drive . Dallas police said their investigation of two shootings within blocks of each other early Monday morning revealed the murders were related and tied to drug activity. Update, Nov. 20, 1:50 p.m. : The Harrisonburg Police Department has made an arrest. Male suspect Seneca Lee Graham , 26, of Harrisonburg, has been charged with one count of first degree murder and one count of use of a firearm while under commission of a felony.  Police are still investigating the case. HILLSBORO, OR — Two Portland teens were arrested over the past 24 hours on suspicion of attempted murder in Hillsboro last week, according to Hillsboro police spokesman Lt . Henry Reimann. Cristin Octavio Magana -Ponce, 19, was arrested early Friday at his Portland residence with help from the Portland Metro Gang and Crisis Negotiation teams and Portland Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT). He was lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of conspiracy to commit two murders. Police say the victim was rushed to Methodist Hospital with significant blood loss . A responding officer applied first aid until paramedics arrived. Another officer was able to locate an involved vehicle leaving the area. Tuscaloosa police are investigating a shootout that left one man with life-threatening injuries. At approximately 9 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Brookhaven Apartments on James I. Harrison Parkway after receiving several calls about a shooting, Captain K. T. Hart with the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit said. Officers found six apartments, five of which were occupied, and five unoccupied vehicles had been shot into. More than 50 shell casings were found in the apartment parking lot , Hart said. Soon after arriving at the apartments, police were notified that a victim was dropped off at DCH Tuscaloosa and was being treated for life- threatening gunshot wounds . The victim has only been identified as a 26-year-old black male.  Hart said the preliminary investigation shows that the victim went to meet one of the suspects about an alleged debt, and they started arguing in front of several other people.
