Police apprehended a third woman who ran from the crash and released two other women who were left behind in the wreckage, Huber Heights police Sgt. Brandon Sucher said.

Police were called to Justice, in the Northpark Center, 8275 Old Troy Pike (state Route 202), just after 7 p.m. on a report of a theft in progress.

Witnesses told police that two of a group of five women in the store ran out carrying armloads of clothing and their getaway car hit a vehicle as it left the parking lot. One of the witnesses followed the getaway car, a Volkswagen sedan, and saw the collision on I-75 South.

That collision, involving a Chevy Tahoe, sent a 2-year-old passenger in the SUV to a hospital, the sergeant said. The child's injuries were believed to be minor.

The getaway vehicle continued after the collision, but then became disabled minutes later. That's when three of the five women got out and ran, Sucher said.

If you have information that can help locate the two suspects, you are asked to call Huber Heights police at 937-225-1565.
