Woman attacked from behind, killed at apartment complex -


LAS VEGAS - A woman is dead after police say she was attacked from behind at an apartment complex Thursday night.

Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received the call at 7:27 p.m. after the woman's body was found at the San Tropez Apartments, near West Russell Road and South Durango Drive.

Investigators believe the woman was walking into an unattached garage when she was attacked. It is unknown at this time what type of weapon she was attacked with. 

The motive of the attack is unknown and no suspect or suspects have been identified.

Charlotte affordable housing forum raises possible solutions

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
