Jul. 2--An Orange County developer plans to build a $37 million gated apartment complex in Rancho Cucamonga, its second Inland Empire project.

Sares-Regis Group of Irvine will build the 272-unit Camino Real project on 20 acres at Etiwanda Avenue just north of Foothill Boulevard, said Barry Kamel, president of the development company's multifamily development division.

Groundbreaking on the proposed "luxury" apartment complex is scheduled for late this summer, with construction expected to be completed by fall of next year.

Kamel, who described Rancho Cucamonga as an under-served apartment market, said the project will be patterned after condominiums. …
