But if you want to live within line-of-sight to the ocean, this place is as affordable as it gets. The manager is hands-down one of the nicest dudes I've met and has been extremely accommodating to us. Although the property is old, it's clean and decently kept up. The pool and hot tub are nice. We're on the 2nd floor in a corner unit and it's been very quiet for us. We haven't had any issues with bugs or vermin of any sort; in fact, we keep our porch door wide open all day long so our kitties can get some fresh air. This results in maybe 1 fly per day inside. Bayside Villas may be under new ownership but residents, who complain of deplorable conditions and discrimination, say nothing has changed. “Nothing has changed,” Bayside Villas resident Barbara Williams said. “It has gotten worse.” The Bradenton Herald first reported on the “deplorable” conditions found at Bayside Villas last November. Multiple government investigations are underway, including one by U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s office, at the apartments located just off 20th Lane East in Palmetto. WEST DEPTFORD TWP. – Chronic roof leaks and at least one ceiling collapse have led township officials to revoke three certificates of occupancy at the Forest Creek apartment complex . Residents of the second floor of the apartment complex near Jessup Road have, since last November in some cases, been complaining of regular leaks in their ceiling. Tisa Davenport was in her sixth year living at Forest Creek when a new leak spouted last January. “It was a regular thing, and it’s like you just know the routine at that point,” said Davenport, 33. “The response from management has always been you poke a hole in the ceiling, you get a bucket and you wait for roof repair. The detention pond at the former ALCOA Inc. West Plant is complete, as the redevelopment continues. The Alcoa Board of Commissioners got a bird’s- eye view Monday of the new detention pond , which is located in the curve where Hall Road meets Alcoa Highway , thanks to a stationary webcam the city has trained on the construction site. Five photos taken over the course of one day — Wednesday, Aug. 16 — show how the detention pond area evolved as it was prepped for seeding, explained Andrew Sonner , assistant director/chief engineer for Alcoa’s Public Works and Engineering Department.
