A Beaumont man was found hiding in an attic Tuesday night after fleeing from a traffic stop, according to the Beaumont Police Department.
Brian Keith Williams, 39, was seen committing traffic violations while leaving the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 2500 block of Primrose St. Police were there investigating complaints of drug deals, according to a statement from police.
While officers followed, he was driving recklessly and throwing suspected drugs out of the window, according to the department.
The driver eventually left the car near the corner of Plum Avenue and Forrest Street and ran into his home on the 1100 block of Cottonwood Ave., according to the statement. He was found hiding in his attic.
Police arrested Williams and charged him with evading detention in a motor vehicle, evading detention on foot and possession of a controlled substance.
He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
