Man found shot to death in car in parking lot of Silverbrook Apartments in Aurora

AURORA - A man was found shot to death inside a car at an apartment complex in Aurora Saturday night.

Someone called police at about 7:45 p.m. and said they believed there was a dead body in a car in the parking lot of the Silverbrook Apartments, near East 1st Avenue and South Chambers Road.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Aurora Police Department.

"The initial investigation reveals that the victim was shot in the head," police said.

Detectives from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit have taken over the investigation.

"This is an active investigation and the scene has not been released," police stated Sunday morning at about 8:30 a.m.

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years.
