RCSO investigating shooting at River Glen Apartments - NBC12 - WWBT

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened Thursday night.

Deputies responded to the scene at around 10:18 p.m. at the River Glen Apartments on East Telfair Street in Augusta. There they found 31-year-old Jonathan McCraney inside an apartment, with a gunshot wound to the hip.

The victim said he knew his shooter, according to an incident report. McCraney went on to tell deputies that the man who shot him had tried to rob him.

McCraney was transported to the hospital. Information on the extent of his injuries has not been released.

Charlotte affordable housing forum raises possible solutions

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
